Hey guy! I got something really cool to show you guys today, as you may or may not know for the last 4 weeks+ I have been super busy with work, testing out the lumia 800 and taking shots for this video that I have to show you guys today but before we get to the video i just want to share the idea I had when making this video.

So first off I wanted to crate a very very small scale version of the nokia Lumia 800  Amazing Everyday Video (I like that video so much!!) So I tried to get the cools shots I could find to put into the video, I went to bars, parties, shows,mountains and even to a local news station with the lumia 800 trying to get cool stuff to put into this video and I did to a point but with all that said I wish I had more time with the device so I could get all the cool shots I wanted but I did the best I could with the time I had, Hope you guys enjoy the video!

Now we all love the nokia n9 swipe unlock feature where you swipe from the edge of the screen to unlock the phone, The feature is something nokia came up with specially for the meego OS, long with the double tap feature but now all of you/us symbian fans can  get that same swipe unlock on our device! (well something pretty close to it anyway)

It’s a pretty nice app! it’s called “SwipeUnlock” and you can buy it now at the Nokia Store

Great news all you nokia n9 owners, you can now get google’s  Android 4.0.3 (ICS) to run on your nokia n9! thanks to the guys at  NITDroid! now before you go back-flipping all over the place please keep in mind that this is just the first Alpha release so everything isn’t working just yet but you can still do the basics.

Here a list of things that should work:

- dualboot kernel (without reflashing), ability to choose OS after power on.
- 3D drivers, OpenGL
- hwrotation (portrait mode only, accelerometer HAL doesn’t work)
- touchscreen (multitouch)
- hw buttons (volume, power)
- ECI accessory (headset buttons)
- USB networking
- lcd off in sleep mode
- alarm driver, RTC
- mounting MyDocs as “SDCard” [realized; NOT FIXED, but HACK EXISTS]
- basic video decoding (sw) and playback, youtube (choppy)
- basic CellMo functionality: network registration, USSD, SMS, data (GPRS/EDGE/3G), signaling. Actually, ofono/ofono- ril stack is used: all things that it able to do on the n900.
- bluetooth (scanning, can pair devices. I didn’t test deeper).
- charging (note: without any notification in UI)
- sensors: accelerometer
- audio: playback (audio routing to: loudspeaker, headset or earpiece)
- lights HAL (lcd brightness)
- root access (via adb shell; su/Superuser.apk)

And most important here is a  step by step guide and how to get ICS up and running on your n9:

1. Install dual-boot kernel as described here: http://forum.nitdroid.com/index.php?topic=90.0

2. Install sillyboot. Details: http://forum.nitdroid.com/index.php?topic=91.0

3. Are you ready for NIT? ДА или НЕТ?!?

a. Download tarball from here: http://depositfiles.com/files/ue9wxpz49 , check its integrity, md5 sum for this archive is ee57d8c3b9199e87bb5c355e8c9d1cc3
b. copy the archive to your Nokia N9.

c. execute “as root” command:

4. Reboot, push “Volume Up” button when message “Press VolUp to boot alternative OS” appear . Wait a little, pray a little…

First of all: go to Settings->Display->Sleep, choose “30 minutes”. Critical defect (“too deep sleep to ping watchdogs”) is yet to be fixed.
Don’t let your device sleep. Otherwise it could die:)

5. Usefull stuff:
get adb from Android SDK (http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html)

Commands that would make your life easier:
adb connect 192.168.2.15:5039 — connect to your device. USB/ADB is broken, but ADB works well over USB networking.
adb logcat — for reading “main” log
adb logcat -b radio — for reading “radio” log
adb shell — to enter to shell
adb pull/push — allow get/put file from/to the device
adb shell rr — “restart radio” — restarts ofono and RIL
adb shell bb — show battery/charging status

 Hey boys & girls I have got some great news for you! Today nokia announced what will be soon known as “the greatest camera smartphone” for the next few years maybe ever… The Nokia 808 PureView is the big brother to the now old nokia n8 which was announced in 2010, the nokia n8 up to today was one of the better if not the out right best camera smartphone on the market, it has a 12mp camera which is by no means small but looks very small next to the 41mp of the nokia 808.

The Nokia 808 PureView runs on nokia belle, it has 4 inch screen, 1gb of ram and 512 rom but the most notable thing about the 808 pureview is the 41 MP sensor camera, here are some specs:  7152 x 5368 pixels images , Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, Xenon flash & a led light for video, the  sensor size is 1/1.2, it also has  ND filters, geo-tagging, face detection and 1080p@30fps for video.

Nokia Q4 results are out and things are looking a bit better for people’s company (yes.. i said the the people’s company) with well over 1 million lumia 800 & 701 devices sold, it’s  less than the 2 million targets that they had but if you ask me  , it’s a good start for a company that changed Os and focus and with in 6 months made an amazing and sexy device such as the lumia 800. So with that good start and a cool $250 million this quarter from Microsoft all i have to say is keep it up nokia!

Yes boys and girls!  according to the latest online rumors the nokia lumia 900 will be out on march 18th for $99.99 on  a two-year contract. The information came from Boy genius report who said that it came from a source close to the carrier (AT&T), so we don’t know how true it is but nokia did say they will be marketing the nokia lumia 900  aggressively so the rumors may have more truth to it then anything else we have heard so far.

The great guys at Nokia wom world (now called Nokia connects)  are having a “follow the Mapstronaut and win” competition to celebrate the launch of the new Nokia Maps blog. I have been thinking about why I like the n9 so much and I am I willing to spend
almost $6000 TTD on it without having even used it yet and on a platform that many
think is already dead and the truth is, I really don't know why I want the n9, when it comes to
gadgets "anything but simple" is what I like to say, I like customization and I love sitting
down for hours setting up a new device just the way I want it.

So why do I want the n9? Well maybe it's because I just like having the latest gadgets or
maybe I'm just a big nokia fanboy or maybe I have gone mad and have nothing better to
do with my money......it could be one of those but I would like to think it's because the
n9 is so new and so different for the other.

The n9 brings something never see on a mobile phone before and yes! I know these days
every phone has something never see/done on phones before it but with the n9 it's not
just one new app or one new feature, almost everything is new about the n9, it's about
a new way of using a phone, a new way of thinking, a new way of living with you mobile
device, and I must say out of all the great new features in the n9 I think the swipe home
feature is what I like the most. And just to make something clear the "all touch screen, no
keys" thing isn't really new, it's something meego/maemo had from the start if you really think about, other than
the keyboard keys, the n900 had not keys on the front just like the n9 but that's not here
nor there.

So why do I want the n9? Well because it's something new and the swipe home feature
look really nice, simple, as does the hole OS. The n9 is simple and easy to understand and
use but it also has to the tools that allow you to make it the device you want to make it
plus I really like the design of the body.

So again why do I want the n9? Because it's what I've wanted all this time, I just didn't

know. So blue n9 here I come.
