Well boys and girls here we are once again, it’s been  just over week since I came back bearing gifts!  whoo! and while the feedback was somewhat mixed, I must say it feels good to be back in the game again (well starting to get back anyway)  and as a graphics designer that works at a TV station there is nothing I like more than a fresh new challenge for my art to express it self. So before I fall asleep trying to find something more to say (it’s like 1am)  here you go! more gifts! but not just more of the same old gifts, no sir! these  are New! whooo!  Now I don’t think I have to say this but I have put a good bit of work in to these (more than 2x times the amount of pack1) and I would really really like to hear what you guys think!  Also our new app “Wp Pride” is in the works and will be ready soon to make things easy on you lazy few. So around the time that pack 3 comes out it will be ready!

So I was doing my usual browsing and I stumbled upon something epic! Magnetic lenses for your mobiles. Now so far I can tell of only three types: fish eye, wide angle and macro but they are cheap, around 12USD and I personally like the Macro for my Samsung Focus to give me better close up shots so I’ll bet getting the set. They can be found at Amazon. Have fun!

Installed my 7.8 custom ROL last night. Works fine so far but a bit laggy on application launches BUT not a major lag bit I would suggest holding out for the official updates which will be out in a couple weeks.

Seems developers at XDA forums under the alias “cees heim” have put out a couple flavours or 7.8 ROMs and I am excited to try one with a slice of ham and Crix. Head over to their Facebook group, like their page and enjoy your ROM.

I’m sure all of you Nokia fan saw the window phone 8 event today and while it wasn’t the most exciting event in the world and I there were still a lot of features we didn’t even hear about [ like multitasking improvements &  notifications hub] it was still good to see windows phone finally able to match up to the likes of Ios and Android.

The main point of the post however is to highlight the Nokia lumia 920 unboxing from the guys at Wp central, it’s pretty short and not very detailed but it’s the first nokia lumia 920 [that I have seen anyway] so there is that. hope you guys enjoy the video!

While I think he is wrong about the camera but it was a good review overall. what do you guys think?

I know many of you have seen Samsung’s  “it doesn’t take a genius Ad” by now, after all it’s been all over the place but if you some how have’t seen it, the ad show a list of iPhone 5 specs next to a list of  Samsung S3 specs and features the point being to basically say it’s take a genius to see that the S3 is better than the new Phone 5 (see ad below)

Well since the Nokia Lumia 920 beats both device in some key areas like camera technology and display resolution just to name a few and since nokia marketing people are busy getting the lumia 920 Tv commercials ready, I took it upon myself to reply to Samsung’s Ad and show that it really doesn’t take a genius when the add a little lumia flavour to the mix. comments are welcome!

What’s Nokia new PureMotion HD+ display you ask…..well basically it makes the pixels in the display move 2 time faster than it normally would, which means you should never see any virtual lag or blur while using the phone to scroll up and down or while moving around the UI.

The nokia lumia 920 was announced today at the nokia event in NYC, The 920 is nokia’s new  flagship device taking over from the  lumia 900 and from the looks of it nokia’s has taking at lot of hints from the lumia 900, as a matter of fact it looks a lot like it’s older but smaller brother.

It’s has a very big  4.5 inch IPS  capacitive touchscreen display with Corning Gorilla Glass (1280 x 768 pixels) it also has something nokia calls  ”PureMotion HD+” with makes the pixels in the display move 2 time faster which means you will never see any virtual lag or blur while using the phone (here is a video showing how it works)

There is 32 GB of storage with 1 GB RAM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE and all the other boring  but need stuff,

The camera on the lumia 920 while only 8.7 mp it has at lot of cool Pureview tech inside for better image and video stabilization and low light shots (here is a video showing off the new Pureview tech) it also shots 1080p video at 30 fps.

As for speed we all now how fast windows phone is and the Qualcomm snapdragon S4 1.5 dual-core krait processor can do nothing help. maybe not as much on and the UI side of things but for all the super games we’re hoping to see on wp8 it would do alot of good.

The first thing I saw this morning was this teaser video from nokia saying  ”Things are about to change” with the date September 5th 2012 but what does it mean?

Most people are saying  pureview on windows phone 8 and from the looks of the video why wouldn’t it be pureview? from what I can tell it looks like there is someone else riding with her……maybe her boyfriend or something, because it looks like she is talking to someone and at the end she tells them she loves them, I think the person who she is talking to is riding as well and he/she has the new nokia phone recording the video….so if the person is riding and recording with one hand and she riding as well…there has to be so really good stability enhancements going on in the phone for the video to look that good or else the video would be all over the place…won’t it? It’s all a big  mystery.  A 12mp pureview camera with new stability enhancements maybe?
