A few weeks ago i was asked by Wom World nokia to take part in a nokia n97 mini challenge and at the point in time i was like a lost sheep in  jerusalem, not knowing anything about the challenge other than it had sometime to do with the nokia n97 mini but that was more than enough for me to say YES! and now two weeks after i happily accepted that request, a Hugh box in the shape of a mini that is not very mini? showed up at my door, you will see what i’m talking about in the video below…

This time last year i moved my personal blog from google sites to worldpress with the help of my now good friend matthew, before this well oiled phone reviewing machine that you see here to day, CJ’s Nokia Blog was known as “Nokia E65 and S60v3 Downloads”  and then “Carlton E65″ i know it was not the  best names ever but it was the best that i could have think of at the time, moving on after 2 to 3 weeks at google sites and no feed back what so ever, i sent an email to a youtuber that did a show called the “nokia daily news”  and with a few emails and a video CJsNB was on the map but if it wasn’t for you guys, the readers of CJsNB we would be here today, that being said David and I would like to say THANK  YOU to everyone that SUPPORTED us over the last 12 months and it will make us have happy if you continue supporting us.  Happy birthday CJ’s Nokia Blog and Merry Christmas to all of its readers

Hello everyone, today David and I are  here to give you a review of the super slim, super sexy, super phone that goes by the name of the nokia e71.

Lets start*

The  E71 comes to represent the Nokia Eseries line of phones, in which the “E” stands for Enterprise. Pretty clear, and in true Eseries style the E71 aims  for the users who are looking for productivity on their cellphone over multimedia content, just looking at the front of the E71, you see the word b.u.s.i.n.e.s.s all over the device.

The front of  the device*

The first thing you see when you look at the e71 is full QWERTY keyboard which comes in handy for typing long messages,emails or URL’s (we will come back to the keyboard), next we see a 320 x 240 pixels High quality QVGA display which is perfectly bright and readable in any environment, even in direct sunlight.  In the keypad you will find the most important shortcut keys which are calendar, contacts, email, and the home key which will take you to the S60 menu. Everything you would need to be always in contact.

Keyboard*

Back to the keyboard, it has a full qwerty and the standard Dpad, The keys are a bit tricky to use at first, but you will learn in the first 15 minutes. But beware, that  people with big fingers will require more time to get use to using this keyboard. But don’t worry the E71 comes with a text predictor so instead of having to type the full word you can just start it and let the predictor finish it.

The size*

at only 114 x 57 x 10 mm, 66 cc the nokia e71 is the smallest  full QWERTY device out there, the size of the nokia e71 tured me off at first but now i love have this super slim, super sexy device in my pocket.

The battery*

it has a massiv BP-4L 1500 mAh Li-Po battery and will give the E71 two or maybe three days of life at an average use, beware that using GPS & maps kills the battery a hold lot faster  

Other things*

The other feature that you can find are the GPS with turn by turn directions, a 3.2 mega-pixel camera with auto-focus and a LED flash but don’t  expect much from the camera. (It takes pictures and that’s it) And other multimedia features are done fairly but nothing compared to the Nseries line of phones. It also has WIFI connection and it is pretty fast at connecting. (its 10 times faster then my nokia e65

On the downside, the E71 lacks the TVout, a feature that I find very useful. Nokia missed it here, as some people would have loved to connect the E71 to a monitor and with a Bluetooth keyboard, make it a full computer. To bad because this phone also includes all the software needed to read, create and edit office documents, great for the people who are always doing documents.

What We lived*

• Metal materials – Just like all the other e-series phone the e71 has a “fantastic”  fantastic! build quality, (if not the best) the e71  has to be one of  the best  made phone that i had ever used and like i said in the video, the phone feels “like a million bucks in the hand”
• The keyboard – the Full qwerty is also well made but it took some getting use too.
• Screen – i liked watching videos on the big bright screen  

David*

• Metal materials, give the impression of a solid phone and it looks elegant. I wish the Nseries phones had these materials.
• The fast OS
• Full qwerty
• Awesome battery
• Text predictor

What We didn’t like*

• Lacks TV feature, VERY important feature
• Mediocre camera -this might not be important to other users but its important for a hardcord multimedia guy like me.

The bottom line*

So to finish, this is a great device,that is well made and has a fantastic build quality with multimedia features that no other Eserie phone has, David and I highly recommend the e71 for all business.

Hey guys, cj here for some time now i had a problem with my nokia e65 video recorder when i  switch the memory in use from the phone to the memory card and i start recording,that first it works as normal but when i try to stop the recording the phone freeze up and i have to reboot it. so if you can please help me or if you have the same problem just tell me about it. “see ya”
