The Nokia E71 has been officialy out for a year and half and as today it is still rocking out! With the pretty screen and rock solid metal case acompanied by the ultra handy full qwerty there is only one word to describe it: sexy!

And this time Proporta doesn’t upsets anybody!  They are making sure that your E71 will be protected while keeping the good looks. Come and read the review of your soon-to-be case.

The packaging is the standard Proporta box with the silver card and the plastic window. This window should be strong enough to protect the content in the delivery. But, time I received my package with the plastic window all crushed, maybe because of the high transit on this holiday season. Lucky enough, the case was complete, and undamaged. Great!

Now, my favorite part: the case! This case is a flip type with a clip where the E71 slides in, when clipped in, the phone can only be released by sliding up again. There is no play or whatsoever, and dont worry about the dreaded clips, they wont scratch the metal body of the E71, which is way harder. The interior lining is of black and soft material.

The whole case clips with a magnetic brochure. At first it might need some practice to close it fast, but after a few days it will be automatic. Inside the front flap there is a aluminium sheet which is designed to protect the screen and the whole front device against hits or scratches.

On the exterior there is the black leather with white stitches. This leather is beautiful and gives the case a very stylish look. Im a big fan of leather, I love the smell and the touch, and it’s impossible to look away from it. On the back side there is windows specially for the E71 camera, it’s actually not very practical to use the E71 camera because you should hold the flap when shooting, but I believe most users won’t be concerned about it. Also the camera looks cool on the back of the case.

When it comes to functionality, the Proporta case does a great job, you can use evey port on the E71 while using the case, the only situation when you should remove it is when opening the battery cover.  Also when receiving a call you don’t get funny look that you get when using other flap type cases, this because the front flap can be bent backwards and held inside the hand.

The whole case adds minimun bulk, and since the E71 is already slim, this is not an issue in anyway.

Finally, this is one of the best cases I have reviewed, the only thing that might hold back some people is the lack of belt clip, but overall, the E71 Aluminium Leather Case is a great option for stylish and practical use. My day starts early in the morning, while still dreaming I hear far away my favorite song playing, from a soothing level up to a rocking one. Makes me think what’s so special about that song when it wakes me every day so early.  Anyways, I reach my phone on the table and turn off the alarm. Then I jump off my bed and check my duties for that day, again, on my phone. I proceed to take a bath, something that my phone cannot do for me, yet.

I do breakfast while I check my  email on my phone. Sometimes I do get important messages at morning. So after having a good breakfast I get ready for another day at med school. I ride my car and plug my phone into the AUX jack, it works as my MP3 player, and also as a free hands if I get called.  Arriving at school I rush to my classroom and pay attention. Sometimes I need to record the class on audio, and guess what I use? My phone. Other times I want to show a presentation to the class and I have 2 options here, I can connect my phone (using a bluetooth dongle) to the computer and download the powerpoint file and project it from there, or I can connect the phone using a AV cable.

When Im off duty, like on weekends, I can use my phone to help me get to the parties using the GPS, most of times it gets me safely, sometimes the roads arent exactly updated, so I must be carefull with the one way streets. When I get to my friends I have fun the whole night, I can use my phone to save that precious moment when they are wasted with my phone’s camera! I might upload this video or picture to my facebook, which I usually do on the spot. You should see my facebook, you would know what I mean. At home I can fire up the Ngage app and kill some time while bored, surf the net and chat on the messenger. Looks like my laptop is getting jealous.

Did I say that I can also do calls with it? Yeah, I dont use it much for it, but when I do I tend to record them, just in case I need a future reference, because I tend to forget things. Also I get unlimited SMS from my carrier to use with my girlfriend so, I spend the whole day chatting with her.

But what would happen if I suddenly lost my N97? Well you imagine it. First, my day wouldnt start until a few hours later at least, I would not have an alarm. So no early wake up, no agenda for today. My trip to the school would be mute, or acompanied by the  radio, which I dont like much. So I guess I would pop in the CD play my Green Day album. I would have to carry different gadgets for every different purposes. A usb flash for my classes, a camera for my parties, a recorder for the school, then I would start wearing baggy jeans, just to fit my stuff inside. Getting to an unknow place would be a big adventure without GPS directions. I would have to use my lappy for every small task I needed to do, something that would make her so happy, Im sure.

As you can see, my phone holds an important place in my life. Helps me the whole day to do most of my tasks, and also entertains me. This has been like this for 2 years now, since I got my first smartphone a N95. Maybe we are too dependant to our gadgets, but think about it as if you didnt have electric power, would you survive? Sure, but at what cost? Out gadgets improve our productivity, they simply let us multitask in life. So make sure you never lose it or forget it.

So what can we expect in the future? I guess this is only the beginning!

The nokia e72 is the successor to ever popular nokia e71, besides a name change the nokia e72 includes a upgraded camera, which is now a 5 megapixel camera instead of 3 megapixel, a optical mouse and a relocated headphone jack, that’s all the info we have on the e72 for now, but we will you know as soon as we get more info.

Hello everyone, today David and I are  here to give you a review of the super slim, super sexy, super phone that goes by the name of the nokia e71.

Lets start*

The  E71 comes to represent the Nokia Eseries line of phones, in which the “E” stands for Enterprise. Pretty clear, and in true Eseries style the E71 aims  for the users who are looking for productivity on their cellphone over multimedia content, just looking at the front of the E71, you see the word b.u.s.i.n.e.s.s all over the device.

The front of  the device*

The first thing you see when you look at the e71 is full QWERTY keyboard which comes in handy for typing long messages,emails or URL’s (we will come back to the keyboard), next we see a 320 x 240 pixels High quality QVGA display which is perfectly bright and readable in any environment, even in direct sunlight.  In the keypad you will find the most important shortcut keys which are calendar, contacts, email, and the home key which will take you to the S60 menu. Everything you would need to be always in contact.

Keyboard*

Back to the keyboard, it has a full qwerty and the standard Dpad, The keys are a bit tricky to use at first, but you will learn in the first 15 minutes. But beware, that  people with big fingers will require more time to get use to using this keyboard. But don’t worry the E71 comes with a text predictor so instead of having to type the full word you can just start it and let the predictor finish it.

The size*

at only 114 x 57 x 10 mm, 66 cc the nokia e71 is the smallest  full QWERTY device out there, the size of the nokia e71 tured me off at first but now i love have this super slim, super sexy device in my pocket.

The battery*

it has a massiv BP-4L 1500 mAh Li-Po battery and will give the E71 two or maybe three days of life at an average use, beware that using GPS & maps kills the battery a hold lot faster  

Other things*

The other feature that you can find are the GPS with turn by turn directions, a 3.2 mega-pixel camera with auto-focus and a LED flash but don’t  expect much from the camera. (It takes pictures and that’s it) And other multimedia features are done fairly but nothing compared to the Nseries line of phones. It also has WIFI connection and it is pretty fast at connecting. (its 10 times faster then my nokia e65

On the downside, the E71 lacks the TVout, a feature that I find very useful. Nokia missed it here, as some people would have loved to connect the E71 to a monitor and with a Bluetooth keyboard, make it a full computer. To bad because this phone also includes all the software needed to read, create and edit office documents, great for the people who are always doing documents.

• Metal materials – Just like all the other e-series phone the e71 has a “fantastic”  fantastic! build quality, (if not the best) the e71  has to be one of  the best  made phone that i had ever used and like i said in the video, the phone feels “like a million bucks in the hand”
• The keyboard – the Full qwerty is also well made but it took some getting use too.
• Screen – i liked watching videos on the big bright screen

• Metal materials, give the impression of a solid phone and it looks elegant. I wish the Nseries phones had these materials.

So to finish, this is a great device,that is well made and has a fantastic build quality with multimedia features that no other Eserie phone has, David and I highly recommend the e71 for all business.
