The OS can be installed manually or automatically (recommended).  I just wanted my readers to know that there is a larger source of applications available for the N900 but at your own risk and cost. So far there are a couple games and applications that run on the NITdroid OS. You can purchase a couple at www.gameloft.com

Note: Not all games and applications may work and this will hopefully be fixed later on.

The project has been running for a couple months now so if you’re reading this and saying, “you’re so late!” it’s not that I am just I’m new to Gadgetized and the capabilities of the Nokia N900 and I must stress that this is an amazing device!

I found the project amazing especially since I am one of those who’s in love with the N900 and to make my love greater I would of loved to play the latest games and now if I want to take the risk, I can!
There are off course bugs here and there but it works just fine and one day all issues will be solved and we’ll be free to enjoy it with great big smiles

A few days a go I picked up my Game Gripper for the nokia n900 and from the time that I unboxed it to now I have not taken it off my n900 (making it useless as a phone but……I love this thing!) I must say i’m really impressed with the simple yet very smart design of the game gripper.

The Game Gripper it self has no batteries or real keys instead it covers most of the key except for W,A,D,X,B,T,U,M,L,P,right & down, it uses those keys as up, down,left,right, start,select,A,B,C,X and two extras, which makes it very light and easy to carry around in your pocket or bag , this being a good this and a bad thing at the same time, a good this because its light and easy to pull off and put on when ever you want but i bad thing because you are still using the qwerty on your phone which mean you will be hit the same keys over and over causing them to wear very fast.

The game gripper over all has a nice grip and fell to it, I also really like the xbox style buttons and there are lots of other colors available as well. It makes gaming on the n900 a lot more fun and easy, games like mario,boom and supertux work very well with the game gripper and the playing Vgba roms with it is not bad at all, its a new easy & smart way to improve gaming on your mobile device and if you have  $14.99 I highly recommend that you pick one at Game Gripper.com

Hopefully my favourite games from Gameloft, one of which is Real Football 2010 won’t have a problem operating on the S40 OS and with 5 hours talk time when you’re bored and not feeling to chat you can indulge yourself in your favourite tunes flowing from the base of this amazing piece of modern technology. In closing this phone is not for someone who is big on gaming and web browsing. It’s for the average user and maybe even the mature users since the UI (user interface) is laid out with large icons to help guide you around the phone. It has what you need for daily activities and what you want for entertainment purposes. This is a great phone at a great price. Look out for my review on it soon. Good bye and thanks for reading.

So as some of you know my last nokia devices was the nokia 5800 and i say “was my last device” because it doesn’t work anymore, anyhow I got a n900 from the good people at nokia few days back and i have been using it as my main device ever since   but not only as my main device but as my life line and i will tell you now from the first day to now! i have spent more time with this phone then i have with my girlfriend, yes i know it sounds bad but when you have a computer with a nice looking, easy to use Ui thats has been blended up and poured into a great pace of hardware to create one of the best devices on the market to day one can’t help but keep it close at hand and heart, now i’m not saying that i never spent time with my other phones as a matter of fact i spent 3-4 hours setting up every new device that i have ever had but the differences is, with Symbian i was always like

“okay that new”, “I see they added a new app”, they still haven’t fix this problem”

but with maemo/meego/an other cool name that starts with M, I was like

“WOW! that’s nice” , “WOW! i didn’t know it could do that” , “father forgive me for i have sinned, because this must be mobile OS heaven”

Its about presentation my friends! see maemo presents it self like a top of the line OS with an easy to use  UI but with Symbian its like “sup G!, i have been doing this a long time you should know who i be!  and that’s where apply,google and meego with kick the living day lights out of Symbian. it’s because symbain won’t take the time to make  those hard edge, box like, pop ups windows that ask you to continue a billion and one time into a  small,smooth/round edged notification. i know some of you are saying “that won’t make symbian better” well maybe you’re right but think about if they made  hundreds of  little changes like that.

To kick things off we have one of the most interesting games out there, its made by Breakdesign you know the guys who made the ”That Roach Game South Africa”  while there isn’t any roaches to kill this time around there are some undead zombies to put back to the grave of your OS but here is the twits, the zombies only come out at night (10pm-5am) which means for the other 17 hours (morning time) there will be no zombies, what you will get when you open the game is a new funny little game called “where is the love?” lost? the screenshot below should help you.

remember this is the same game (well not really), it launches from the same icon, but when you open it in the morning you get a happy game about love and when you open it after 10pm you get zombies ready and willing to eat your brains. You can find & download 10pm at the Ovi store

We all love reading comics right? no? well most of us do anyway, and while reading comics is fun, I know some times you (well maybe not you but I) just wish you could make your our, you know a little super cj to save the world just like super man, well now you can with a cool little app called “Comics Creator”

as you can see from the screen shots above a had fun making my our comic Comics Creator is a fun little app which you can download from the Ovi store

Guns ‘N’ Glory is a  tower defense style game with less than great controls but it’s playable and very very fun, x6 users should love this game while  n97 and 5800 user may have a hard time  play it with out a stylus

the version of the game that i have is not in English (got it off an old micro SD card i had round) there isn’t a copy of the game in the Ovi store but i’m sure you could just google it

Staying in line with today’s theme of “Fun” we have other fun app called Finger Print, this app allows you to use your fingerprint to unlock your phone (well not really)  this is just a simulation for fun, which you can fool your friends into thinking your phone can scan finger prints.

So today May 8th 2010, I started my Carpe Diem Daily and found today’s task which is “Record a small status video” and a small button saying ‘record’. I found nice to have camera integration, so I could record simple and easy. After recording a small 15 secs video, you are prompted to add a small note and then publish. Then you can share it via twitter.

basically I was checking my facebook and took a small video of me with my booklet.

Suggestions for the developers? Well they could add a small homescreen widget to see the new tasks every day.
